Tiger Tour Pench


Day 1 : Arrival New Delhi. Transfer Hôtel. Night.

Tiger Day 2 : Look Around of Delhi and transfer for train to Nagpur

Day 3 :Arrival Nagpur. Transfer to Pench. Arrive at PENCH JUNGLE Camp in time for FIRST Game Drive with packed breakfast. Back to Camp. Room. Lunch. After Lunch take a short nature walk around the property looking at Babblers, sun birds, lapwings, oriels etc. PM: Drive into the park using a route that will introduce you to the major habitats of the park.

Day 4 : Morning Game Drive with packed breakfast.Explore the areas around the submergence zone, the elephant camp looking for Tigers, Jackals, Sambars, Blue Bull, Spotted Deer. We will be keeping an eye on the elephants which will be tracking tigers, if the elephant succeed in tracking a tiger we will board the elephant and be taken to the area where the cat has been found. We will spend all the time possible at least with the tiger. Return to the lodge for Lunch and afternoon nature walk. Early this afternoon return to the park for your evening game drive.We will also visit the elephant camp where our naturalist will give you a short lecture on the Asian elephant, you will also get a chance to photograph the elephant being fed and bathed.

TigerDay 5 : Morning Game drive with packed breakfast.We return this morning again to the elephant camp area to check on the elephants and then drive on into other parts of core area of the park before driving through the Sanctuary area and exit from the Rookhad gate. We will have lunch at the forest department rest house. After lunch explore the area around the rest house. We return to the park through the rookhad gate for our evening Game Drive.

Day 6 : Morning Game drive with packed breakfast - today we will have a long morning exploring the Chindwara are of the park, which is good for raptors, chinkara, black buck and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for Lunch.Later this evening return to the park for your evening game drive - explore the areas around Piwarthari, Kalapahar.

Day 7 : Morning Game drive with packed breakfast - we return to the park this morning exploring the submergence area and the area along the Pench Rive, elephant camp ending up at the Karmajhiri Rest House. We leave our vehicles at the rest house and begin our nature walk in the territorial area of the park called Bodhanala. This walk is approximately 12 km , we will cover most of the trail and then return to Karmajhiri for our lunch. We will re enter the park later this afternoon for our evening game drive.

Tiger Day 8 : Morning Game drive with packed breakfast. Today we will explore the areas around the elephant camp, bison camp which is very good habitat for the Gaur and also wild dogs. Return to the lodge for Lunch. After lunch we drive to the highway to visit Villages. After our visit we drive back into the park for our evening game drive. ( We will organise this day the day of the week of the Tribal Market )

Day 9 : Morning Game drive with packed breakfast. Return to the lodge for Lunch. Packed to be ready for departure to Nagpur. Last game drive in the afternoon. Tranfert to Nagpur for Train

Arrive Mumbai by an International flight.

Meeting and assistance on arrival at Mumbai Airport and transfer to hotel.
Mumbai (Bombay) is the vibrant and pulsating capital of Maharashtra. For over a century, Mumbai has been a commercial and industrial centre of India with a magnificent harbour, imposing multi-storeyed buildings, crowded thoroughfares, busy markets, shopping centres and beautiful tourist spots. The British acquired Mumbai from the Portuguese in 1665 and handed it over to the East India company in 1671 for a handsome annual rent of Sterling Pounds 10 in Gold !. Later, these seven islands were joined together by causeways and bridges in 1862.
Overnight in Mumbai.

Day 2: Mumbai
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning: Visit the 19th century Jain Temple with its silver doors, the Kamala Nehru Park and the Ferozshah Mehta Gardens known as the Hanging Gardens of Bombay and the Towers of Silence where the Parsis dispose their dead. Visit Mani Bhavan where Mahatma Gandhi spent 17 years of his life working for the freedom of India. The Prince of Wales Museum has an excellent collection of miniatures (closed on Mondays).

Day 3: Mumbai - Nagpur - Pench
Morning departure transfer from the hotel to the airport to board flight (9W 111: 0710 / 0825 hrs) to Nagpur.

Meeting on arrival at Nagpur airport and drive to Pench (275 kms / 7 hrs)

Pench National Park, nestling in the lower southern reaches of the Satpura hills is named after Pench river which flows from north to south through the Pench National Park. It is located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh.

Overnight in Pench.

Day 4: Pench
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Camp.

In Pench, Cheetal, Sambar, nilgai are commonly seen grazing on the open sites on roadsides and banks of river & reservoir. Jackals can be seen in search of food anywhere in the Park. Packs up to 15 of wild dog can be seen near Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala and Pyorthadi areas of the Reserve. Herds of gaur can be spotted near streams and bamboo patches commonly in summer months. Sloth beer occupy hilly, rocky out crops and favour mahul bel infested forest.

Day 5: Pench
Langoors are very common in Pench, whereas the Rhesus monkeys may be seen occasionally on the fringes. Pench boasts of, more than 210 species of birds that include several migratory ones also. Commonly seen are Peafowl, Red jungle fowl, Crow pheasant, Crimson breasted barbet, Redvented bulbul, Racket tailed drongo, Magpie robin and lesser whistling teal.

Day 6: Pench - Bandhavgarh
Breakfast at the Camp .

After breakfast drive to Bandhavgarh (325 kms). On arrival check in at the resort.

The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is relatively high. The possibility of spotting Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Leopard and Tiger is very good. The park is also densely populated with animals like the Chital (Spotted Deer), Sambar, Barking Deer, Nilgai (Blue Bull), Chowsingha (Four Horned Antelope) and is rich in bird life.

The terrain is rocky, rising sharply from the swampy and densely forested valley. The finest of these hills is Badhavgarh which is bounded by great cliffs and eroded rocks. The Bandhavgarh Fort, believed to be 2000 years old, stands at the highest point. There is a temple at the fort that can be visited by jeeps. Scattered throughout the park, particularly around the fort, are numerous caves containing shrines with ancient Sanskrit inscriptions. The ramparts of the fort provide a home for vultures, blue rock thrushes and crag martins.

Day 7: Bandhavgarh
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge.

Morning and afternoon proceed on a game drive to the sanctuary.

The Forest Department has devised an ingenuous system of tracking the tiger at this Park. Every day, early in the morning, elephants and their "Mahouts" (drivers) are sent out into the jungle, in search of the Tiger. Once it has been sighted, a radio message is flashed to the Forest Ranger, who in turn informs the visitors in their jeeps, who are then taken on elephant-back, into the bush, to see the elusive Tiger.

Morning and afternoon proceed on a game drive to the sanctuary.

Day 10: Bandhavgarh - Umaria - Agra
Breakfast and Lunch at the Lodge.
Morning proceed on a game drive to the sanctuary.
Late afternoon drive to Umaria railway station (45 Kms) to board Kalinga Utkal Express to Agra.
Board the train at 1930 hrs.
Overnight enroute on board the train. Move to Delhi by Flight / Train Delhi for onward Journey.
